As a mom, I know the importance of saving a buck anywhere I can. Even when there are two parents in the home and they both work, it can still be tough to make ends meet. As a rule, nearly all of us wait to see what’s on sale at the grocery store, or local department store, before we go out and spend our hard earned money. Well, we can do the same thing online.
Since I first started this blog, I’ve spent a lot of time thumbing through various websites and online shops. Did you know that almost every online clothing store has a special section just for sales and clearance items. This includes big named stores like Wal-Mart and Target, but it also applies to some of the lesser known sites such as MilesKimball.com or Walter Drake. Sure, some people know these names, but they aren’t a regular shopping staple in some places.
Just like a store you’d walk into and look around, many of these online stores need to get rid of their seasonal items to make room for their new stuff. I’ve seen some stores that have marked their products down by as much as 90%. And yes, there is always that dreaded shipping and handling, but when you think about it you’re still saving money in the long run.
Another thing to remember is that many of these stores offer free shipping and handling when you spend a certain amount of money. There are some sites where you’ve got to spend quite a bit of money to get this deal, but most of them are pretty reasonable. However, if you’re going to browse through the clearance section, think about how much stuff you can actually get in the “free shipping” price range. You could potentially get yourself a whole new wardrobe, or get all your Christmas shopping done in one shot, save tons of cash in the process, and end up with free shipping in the end.
Yes, you’ll need to really check out some of the products each of these sites are getting rid of before you just start shelling out your money. But, if you’re looking to save money with your online purchases, be sure to see what your favorite online shops are trying to get rid of. You could end up with the deal of a lifetime.
